Dr. Brent and Kim Habecker have been clients of Four Quadrants for a little over a year and bring a fresh perspective on the type of positive differences 4Q can make in just 12 months.
The reason we wanted to look for a new firm was that we just couldn't get the answers we were looking for. We just ran into issues of it felt like we had to search for every answer as opposed to somebody finding it for us. I was wanting more than just being told yes or being told, do whatever you want. I wanted somebody that was looking ahead, something proactive that allowed us to plan for our future more accurately.
Some of the thoughts that we had just looking for a new firm or someone to really handle our finances was we wanted to just have someone that was looking out for the best of our interests, reaching our goals, really listening to what we wanted, and providing good feedback of how to get there and just eliminate the frustration of having to do it on our own almost. And just knowing that we didn't have to focus on that and think about all the time, just know it was being taken care of and having a good result.
I was so used to effectively being told what I wanted to hear or being told various versions of nothing, having somebody that wanted information, and I knew how to plan for that information and made the decision even easier.
It was more exciting it was exciting to know that we were going to finally get to where we wanted to be and exciting to know that would be handled in the background and exciting just to know that they had our back. You know, they were just there for us.
Somebody who was going to approach our financial lives the way that we approach our office.
Some main changes that I've seen with my spouse since we've started Four Quads is he's so much more relaxed. Before he, you know, took over this practice was growing it rapidly but there's a point where you have bigger numbers and you need to know what to do with those numbers. So he was starting to get frustrated, a little stressed out, distract him from his clinical work and now he's just so comfortable. You know, he's comfortable with the team in the background handling the numbers Four Quads just gives you that security, knowing that you're going to be fine, you're going to be good. You're planning what you should plan. You're planning how you can be successful later. So your home life is just you don't have to worry about taking a vacation. You don't have to worry about wanting to, you know, maybe treat yourself to something. So we're just more relaxed at home. We can be us and not have to worry about work. We just can go to dinner, enjoy our time together because we don't have to worry about that.
The thing that we love the most was we accelerated our ability to retire eight times in our first year. That was I didn't think that was attainable or possibly as a one-off. But you would put yourself at a disadvantage going forward by doing it. And it's absolutely not the case.
It was easy to do that and kind of not know what was happening.
I think of it as having a boss that you like working for. They handle the financial side of things and they tell you, "You need to do this" and say "You should think about doing that". And obviously, you have the final approval, but this is what you should look at doing. That's huge for me. I don't have time to think about everything. I like to think I'm smart, but sometimes you just got to have somebody handling something that you're not most equipped to handle yourself. As far as another practice owner looking to possibly make a change, you have to know if it's right for you. I'm not saying that you should just blindly sign up with anybody whether it's Four Quadrants or someone else, but chances are there's something better out there, and all it takes is a phone call to find out.
To say that you're not stressed by your finances as a business owner, I don't think many people can say that. And also, personally, like our personal finances are great. We just can again focus on running the practice and giving patients a good experience and not having to worry about that extra stuff. We worry about it, but it's a comfortable worry.
I wonder what Kevin's doing.
Yeah, it's more so. I wonder how they're doing.
