When I was in high school, the original intent was to go to medical school. The more I thought about it, medicine was a lot of schooling. By the time you were 40 is about when your career might start. That kind of made me a little bit nervous, took away from some of the family time that I knew that I wanted to have. I started looking at other avenues and dentistry seemed to fit a lot of what I wanted to accomplish in my life. My grandma was very ecstatic, as soon as I graduated, she always referred to me as Dr. Erickson. And I told her, "Grandma still Jon." Anytime she introduced me she was very proud. Our business model is more of high touch, low volume. We are definitely based on building relationships and trust with our patients, kind of serve every part of the family. I have two-year-olds, I have grandparents, 90-year-olds, just everybody in the family is welcome. My practice is pretty much kind of bread and butter. Financial planning is not going to happen overnight. It's going to take time. It's going to take effort and work. Over the last several years, been able to see real, tangible results that we can touch and feel and taste and smell. The plan's working, that it's functioning the way it was intended to. We are tweaking here and there every once in a while, but it's not huge, huge changes. The plan's working.

I think seeing that goal realized, every year, we're kind of seeing that dream become a reality more and more. And that's huge. And just that peace of mind that our future is it's great. We are realizing those dreams.

No, it's real. We found out today, is we're going to be in control in retirement and before retirement even. That we have a lot of options available to us and we have to, I think that's probably the most stressful thing from today is that we have to figure out what that means for us. We're going to start putting a plan together. What do we see that retirement looking like? Those things that are out of our control in a lot of situations or a lot of people's situations because they didn't plan properly, they're in our control and we can make decisions not based on financial stresses. That has all gone by the wayside. And so we have full control over how we go about this. I would recommend Four Quadrants because they produce. They're not just talk. They know my personality, they know my little quirks and my little nuances. They don't just say something without meaning it. They're not going to tell you what you want to hear. They've earned my trust which is not easy to do. Tend to be a pessimistic, a cautious kind of person and I'm not going to trust you initially and you're going to have to earn that trust. Not only have they done that, but they've surpassed that and I'm going to honestly say probably other than my wife, Jennifer, they're probably a group of people that I trust the most in my life.
